OUR VISION

Terra Sapiens — wise Earth. The term was coined by astrobiologist David Grinspoon to describe a civilisation that has learned to live in right relationship with its planet. We borrowed it, because it is both a diagnosis and an aspiration – a name for who we are in the act of becoming.

WHO WE ARE

We are a transdisciplinary arts laboratory. That means we don't just make work about ecological futures — we use the artistic process itself to research, prototype, and rehearse those futures. Our practice braids artistic, scientific, and Indigenous knowledge systems, treating each as a valid and necessary way of understanding the world.

We work across three axes:

  • Research-Creation – developing immersive artworks that inspire and engage audiences with the socio-ecological narratives of our time

  • Education and Cultural Mediation – leading talks, conferences, and workshops

  • Intersectoral Collaboration – joining forces with conservation, scientific, and Indigenous institutions to scale impact

Founded in Montréal in 2021 by Damian Siqueiros out of a conviction that art is one of the most powerful — and most underused — tools we have for ecological transformation. In 2026, we became a non-profit, formalizing a commitment that was always at the heart of our work: culture shift over profit.

We exist because our imagination, when given the right conditions, is one of the most regenerative forces humans can steward.

Humans are a powerful force of nature, and it's time our role evolves into one of empathic stewardship — caring for all life and the ecosystems we share. But transformation at that scale doesn't begin with policy or data alone. It requires radical imagination.

This is where we, as artists, step in.

We make new worlds legible, giving them texture, colour, and emotional depth. We don't illustrate the future after the fact. We make it conceivable from the beginning, and in doing so, worth fighting for.

OUR VALUES

FUTURE REIMAGINATION

Using art to rewire how we think, imagine new futures, and move beyond obsolete systems.

SYMBIOSIS WITH NATURE

Representing how humans can live symbiotically with nature, honouring her intrinsic worth.

PLURALITY OF VISIONS

Weaving together ideas from philosophy, science, Indigenous knowledge, design, and art to find holistic solutions.

DECOLONIZING KNOWLEDGE

Challenging dominant ways of learning and problem-solving by listening with empathy to people and ecosystems.

REPRESENTATION & INCLUSIVITY

Countering harmful stereotypes by creating positive and empowering images of systematically oppressed communities.

RESEARCH AS CREATION

Using the artistic process itself as a space to test and embody the values at the heart of the stories we tell.

HUMANIZATION OF TECHNOLOGY

Humanizing technology that is low-impact, biophilic (human-centered), and biomimetic (nature-inspired).

FEMININE & QUEER NARRATIVES

Centring feminine and queer values—of care, empathy, and collective growth—and perspective in leadership and creation.

GREEN STORYTELLING

Normalizing circular and sustainable values through stories that highlight solutions like alternative proteins, green agriculture, and clean energy.
