Loneliness is not just a feeling — it is a social condition, and the pandemic made it impossible to ignore. When Sinha Danse commissioned 2M Solitudes, the world had been forcibly reminded of something it had long been avoiding: how fragile our bonds are, and how much we depend on the physical presence of others to feel fully human.

Created in collaboration with Roger Sinha and his ensemble of dancers, the work moves between the real and the dreamlike — tracing the unbearable weight of confinement and the body's fierce, persistent desire to reach across the distance. Movement becomes both the wound and the medicine: a language for what isolation does to us, and what connection might restore.

2M Solitudes is also a celebration of thirty years of Sinha Danse — a company that has long understood the body as a site of cultural memory, resistance, and healing. In a moment of collective rupture, their work reminded us that coming back together is not just a relief. It is an act of repair.
